In 1901, late Mokujiro Tanaka started his enterprise of distributing scientific instruments in Tokyo, Japan, and he later started manufacturing and thus became one of the few pioneering manufacturers of scientific instruments in the nation. Since then, TANAKA has been contributing to the growth of industries by supplying quality scientific instruments and supplies, and in the past 30 years, TANAKA products have been used worldwide wherever petroleum products are made or analyzed.
Among the various product lines, TANAKA started specializing in the petroleum testing instruments in the 1950s. In the 1950s through 1970s, our premium products helped the growth of Japan’s petroleum industry and thus the unprecedented economic growth of the nation.
TANAKA started to export products and technologies in 1970s when many new refinery projects were granted to Japanese engineering/construction companies. In 1980s, we started direct export to the overseas, and nowadays as much as 60% of our products are exported.
